Our History
AST is born from the vision of two driver brothers committed to motorsport.
Adrián and Alejandro Schimpf began their motorsport journey as a hobby, karting at ages 10 and 11 at BeniKarts. With just two karts, they spent every weekend racing in Valencia. Encouraged by their family, they soon transitioned to professional karting, quickly making a name for themselves in Spanish championships. By 2016, they were competing in European and world karting tournaments.
When the COVID pandemic halted the karting world, Adrián and Alejandro saw an opportunity. In 2022, they purchased their first shared Renault Clio. Noticing a lack of strong Clio teams in Spain, they founded their own in 2023, aiming to win the European Challenger and Clio Spain championships. Their efforts paid off with top positions in both.
Their success and growing reputation soon attracted new drivers to the team. Adrián and Alejandro, leveraging their wealth of experience as drivers, made a strategic shift. They stepped out of the cars to focus on nurturing and developing new talent. This transition allowed them to channel everything they had learned in karting and Clio racing into coaching, improving their drivers’ skills and helping them reach their full potential. Their hands-on approach and deep understanding of racing have turned their team into a training ground for future champions.
